What we collect and why
We collect personal data that you provide to us when you contact us or ask us to work with you. We do not buy marketing lists or use your personal data for cross-site advertising.
When you contact us
When you use our contact form, we collect the type of project, its location, its approximate size in square metres where you know it, the stage the property is at, your name, your email address, your telephone number, and anything you choose to tell us about the project. Your company name is optional.
When you contact us directly by email, telephone or in person, we collect what you tell us.
We use this information to respond to your enquiry, discuss your requirements, prepare a proposal or quotation where requested, and maintain a record of our correspondence.
Where the processing is necessary to respond to a request made by you in connection with a possible contract, our legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps taken at your request before entering into a contract).
Where we retain correspondence in order to maintain an appropriate record of our communications, protect our legal and commercial interests, or respond consistently if you contact us again, our legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests).
We only ask for information that is reasonably necessary to deal with your enquiry. If information identified as required is not provided, we may not be able to respond to or process your request.
When you visit our website
We use Framer Analytics, the measurement tool built into the platform that hosts this site, to understand in general terms how the site is used — which pages are visited, and where visitors arrive from.
We have inspected what it does. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. For each page view it records the page address, the referring address where there is one, and your browser's time zone and language setting. As with any request made over the internet, the server that receives this information also receives your IP address.
We rely on our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the use of our website, under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. You may object at any time by writing to us.

Cookies and similar technologies
We do not use cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use technologies designed to track you across other websites.
Who receives your data
We use a limited number of service providers to operate our website and communications. These currently are:
• Framer B.V., Netherlands, which provides the platform used to host and operate this website, its contact form and the analytics described above; and
• DreamHost, LLC, United States, which provides email hosting for our deco@yldeco.pt mailbox and therefore processes correspondence sent to and from that address.
Where these providers process personal data on our behalf, they are required to process it in accordance with our instructions and applicable data protection requirements.
Suppliers, installers and other project partners
Where necessary to carry out a project — for example to manufacture, order, deliver or install products — we may provide relevant personal data to suppliers, manufacturers, delivery providers, installers or other professionals involved in the project.
Depending on what is required, this may include your name, the delivery or project address, contact details, and relevant room or installation measurements.
We provide only the information reasonably necessary for the recipient to perform its part of the project.
Depending on the circumstances and the services they provide, these recipients may process personal data either as independent controllers or as processors acting on our instructions.
We do not sell your personal data.
We may also disclose personal data where required by law, a court or a competent public authority, or where reasonably necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
International transfers
Some of our service providers may process or store personal data outside the European Economic Area. In particular, our email hosting provider is based in the United States.
Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on the appropriate safeguards provided by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, which our email hosting provider applies under its data processing addendum.

How long we keep your data
We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including applicable legal, accounting and reporting requirements.
Enquiries that do not become projects
We normally retain correspondence relating to enquiries for up to five years from our last substantive contact with you.
Enquiries concerning property acquisition, construction, furnishing and refurbishment may remain relevant or resume after a significant period. Retaining previous correspondence allows us to respond consistently if you contact us again and to maintain an appropriate record of previous discussions.
We periodically review whether continued retention remains necessary, and may delete information earlier where there is no longer a reasonable need to retain it.
Projects and transactions
We retain project records for the duration of the project and afterwards for the periods required or justified by applicable legal, accounting, tax and commercial requirements.
Under Article 40 of the Portuguese Commercial Code, commercial correspondence, accounting records and related documents may be required to be retained for ten years.
Where information is not subject to a mandatory retention period, we will not retain it for longer than is reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, and depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:
• access the personal data we hold about you;
• ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
• ask us to erase your personal data;
• ask us to restrict the way we process it;
• object to processing based on our legitimate interests; and
• receive certain personal data in a portable format, where the GDPR right to data portability applies.
These rights are subject to the conditions and exceptions set out in the GDPR. In particular, we may need to retain certain information where required by law, or where necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
